Basketball Game Preview: Georgetown Bulldogs vs. Hanahan Hawks

Georgetown has gone 4-0 against Hanahan recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Georgetown Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Hanahan Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Georgetown is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Carvers Bay on Wednesday. Georgetown managed a 51-47 victory over Carvers Bay. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Bears are ranked 143rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Georgetown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amos Jones led the charge by putting up 19 points. Jones' evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aaron Mitchell, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, Hanahan strolled past Academic Magnet with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 49-32.

With the win, Georgetown broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-3. As for Hanahan, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.

Everything came up roses for Georgetown against Hanahan in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, as the squad secured a 77-34 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Georgetown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
