Baseball Recap: Berkeley Prep Beats Dade Christian for Their Sixth Straight Win

Berkeley Prep came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Dade Christian Warriors with a sharp 15-3 victory. Considering the Buccaneers have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Berkeley Prep got a great performance from Rivers Kurland as he struck out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Kurland has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josh Herrmann, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Mason Warren also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Berkeley Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dade Christian only managed eight hits.

Berkeley Prep's record now sits at 13-3. As for Dade Christian, they moved to 10-8 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Berkeley Prep and Dade Christian will both be playing Key West the next time they take the field. Berkeley Prep will head out to face Key West at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Dade Christian will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
