Volleyball Recap: Madilyn Skebeck Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat United

The Glendale Vikings were able to grind out a solid victory over the United Lions on Saturday, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Glendale walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 25-13, 19-25.

Glendale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madilyn Skebeck led the charge by getting eight digs, six blocks, and six aces. That's the most aces Skebeck has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Rachel McClellan, who had 17 kills and ten digs.

They weren't the only good server: Glendale was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They are 5-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Glendale now has a winning record of 6-5. As for United, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10-1.

Coincidentally, Glendale and United will both be playing Bishop McCort the next time they take the court. The Vikings will head out to face the Crushers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
