Baseball Recap: Steele Canyon Snaps 14-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Steele Canyon). They came out on top against the Mira Mesa Marauders by a score of 10-5 on Wednesday. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 13-7 victory the Marauders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2019.

Caden Davey and Logan Page did most of the damage at the plate: Davey scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Page scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, Davey posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Madden McBride was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Steele Canyon's win ended a 14-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Mira Mesa, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Steele Canyon will venture away from home to challenge University City at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. University City's pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Steele Canyon's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mira Mesa, they will be taking part in a tournament against Valhalla at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
