Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Wadena-Deer Creek

Wadena-Deer Creek waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale Bears a 14-0 shutout. Considering the Wolverines have won four games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Wadena-Deer Creek's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Wadena-Deer Creek will be playing at home against Perham at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale, they will head out to square off against Menahga at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
