Soccer Recap: Murrieta Valley Comes Up Short

Murrieta Valley lost against Vista Murrieta back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Murrieta Valley Nighthawks came up short against the Vista Murrieta Broncos, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, the Nighthawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 669th, while the Broncos are ranked 74th).

Murrieta Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-11-1. As for Vista Murrieta, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Murrieta Valley has already played their next game (against Chaparral), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Vista Murrieta will take on Murrieta Mesa at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Murrieta Mesa's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
