Volleyball Recap: Sierra Victorious

Sierra posted their closest victory since September 9th on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Monache Marauders. This was payback for the Chieftains, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jolee Harshman had a dynamite game, getting 13 digs and five aces. Those five aces gave her a new career-high. Brooke Gibson was another key player, getting 13 assists and five digs.

Sierra has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-10 record this season. As for Monache, they now have a losing record of 10-11-1.

Looking ahead, Sierra will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Yosemite at 6:00 p.m. The contest will give the Chieftains their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Monache, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Mt. Whitney on the 22nd.
