Basketball Recap: Cass Colonels vs. Adairsville Tigers
Cass had lost six straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped down to 3-8 to make it seven. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 55-47 defeat to the Adairsville Tigers. The Colonels were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in January of 2025.
Adairsville's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-14. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Adairsville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dredyn Bautista out in front who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Pearson, who scored 19 points and seven boards.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cass will head out to challenge Cedartown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Colonels surely won't give up without a fight. As for Adairsville, they will venture away from home to square off against Ridgeland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' defense better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 51.4 points per game this season.
