Recap: Curtis Baptist Crusaders vs. Calhoun Academy Cavaliers
The Curtis Baptist Crusaders entered their tilt with the Calhoun Academy Cavaliers with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. Curtis Baptist came out on top against Calhoun Academy by a score of 34-21 on Friday. Given Curtis Baptist's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 122nd in Georgia, while Calhoun Academy is ranked 252nd in South Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Curtis Baptist found their leader in underclassman Maci Butler, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. Nyla Robinson was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.
Curtis Baptist has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Calhoun Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
