Football Game Preview: Macomb Bombers vs. Knoxville Blue Bullets

The Macomb Bombers will head out on the road to take on the Knoxville Blue Bullets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Macomb lost to Farmington at home by a 30-16 margin. The contest marked the Bombers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Although Macomb took the loss, they still got scores from Kaden Knupp and Carter Havens.

Macomb didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Cassidy Harrison, Nolan Hoge, and Kyler Norton picked up one apiece.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Knoxville and Illini West, and Knoxville kept the tradition alive. The Blue Bullets came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 32-22 on Friday. The win almost wasn't to be: the Blue Bullets were down 22-8 in the second quarter.

Knoxville's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Macomb, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Macomb skirted past Knoxville 22-19 in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bombers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
