Baseball Recap: Quincy Blue Devils vs. Jacksonville Crimsons

Quincy had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 14-18 to make it four. They fell 7-4 to the Jacksonville Crimsons. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crimsons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Drake Gibson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Quincy is 2-1 when Gibson posts one or more home runs, but 12-17 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Logan George, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

As for Jacksonville, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-14. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

On Jacksonville's side, Anderson Decker made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.
