The Newark Norsemen will square off against the Parkview Christian Academy Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Newark hadn't beaten Serena on the road since May 19, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Norsemen put the hurt on the Huskers with a sharp 11-4 victory. That's two games straight that the Norsemen have won by exactly seven runs.
Kiptyn Bleuer made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Bleuer was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Eastin Mcbroom was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Newark is 4-1 when Mcbroom posts two or more runs, but 6-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jackson Walker, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs.
Newark kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Parkview Christian Academy won against Families of Faith Christian Academy last Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Falcons didn't even let Varsity Opponent on the board, marking the Falcons' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.
Matthew Busch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Malkowski, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Crew Staudacher was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Newark pushed their record up to 10-14 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Parkview Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Newark has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Parkview Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
