Basketball Recap: Liberty Snags Ninth Win in Last 11 Games

Liberty lost to Freeman back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Liberty Lancers took down the Freeman Scotties 62-46. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Despite the loss, Freeman still got an impressive performance from Taylee Phelps, who posted 15 points and seven assists. The match was Phelps' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Russell, who had 13 points.

Liberty has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Freeman, with the defeat, they broke their 12-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty has already played their next contest (against Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Freeman will take on Upper Columbia Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Freeman is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.
