Softball Game Preview: Mabton Vikings vs. Warden Cougars

Mabton is 0-8 against Warden since May of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Cougars at 3:00 p.m. Mabton has given up an average of 16.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mabton is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Friday. They lost 19-0 to River View.

Warden couldn't beat Liberty Christian on Wednesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the fifth inning. The Cougars took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots.

Warden's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-10. As for Mabton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Mabton suffered a grim 20-0 defeat to Warden when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
