Amityville Memorial had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Their defense stepped up to hand the Southampton Mariners a 1-0 shutout. Amityville Memorial have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Southampton, too.

Amityville Memorial will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kellenberg Memorial at 10:30 a.m. on the 21st. As for Southampton, they will be playing at home against Smithtown Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give Southampton their first taste of in-conference action this season.
