Football Recap: Westlake Takes a Loss

Westlake played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Erath Bobcats and fell 43-15. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-7.

Westlake lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Derek Thompson, who picked up 98 receiving yards and one TD. His longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Westlake and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Erath, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Westlake has already played their next game, a 21-13 win against St. Louis Catholic on the 10th. As for Erath, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-0 victory against DeQuincy on the 10th.
