Doherty has gone a perfect 10-0 against Vista Ridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Spartans will host the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Doherty managed to slip by Fountain-Fort Carson the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Trojans on Thursday. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Doherty ultimately came up short, they really made Fountain-Fort Carson work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 27-25, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Vista Ridge came up short against Highlands Ranch on Saturday, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-17, 25-14.

Despite the loss, Vista Ridge saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Toryn Dempsey had 42 digs and three assists. Dempsey has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more digs the last 14 times she's played. Alyssa Flores also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Vista Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Doherty, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Doherty beat Vista Ridge 3-1 when the teams last played back in September. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
