Two dominant guards in Adonus Abrams and Peyton Budrys rini are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Harvest Prep Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Lake Catholic Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Harvest Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Lake Catholic likes a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Harvest Prep gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 86-15 win over Berne Union at home. Given Harvest Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while Berne Union is ranked 807th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Harvest Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brandon Roddy led the charge by scoring 28 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roddy has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Abrams, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Lake Catholic's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Bedford by a score of 54-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Lake Catholic has suffered yet this season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Budrys rini, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Ace Peterlin was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Harvest Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Lake Catholic, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Sunday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Harvest Prep have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 28.5 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Lake Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 27.4 rebounds per game. Given Harvest Prep's sizeable advantage in that area, Lake Catholic will need to find a way to close that gap.
