Softball Game Preview: Groves Falcons vs. Walled Lake Central Vikings

The Groves Falcons will take on the Walled Lake Central Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Groves will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Thursday, Groves made easy work of Avondale and carried off a 21-5 win. Fans of the Falcons have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Lakeland hit Walled Lake Central with a four-run first inning last Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Taylor Combs was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Melanie Bigham, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base.

Groves' victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
