Basketball Recap: Freeman Piles Up the Points Against Lamar Consolidated

The third road game was the charm for Freeman, as they earned their first away win of the season. They blew past the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs 49-11 on Tuesday. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Golden Eagles had established a 31-point advantage.

Freeman got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nyema Chesney out in front who posted ten points along with six rebounds and six steals. Chesney is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Paige Bailey, who scored 14 points and eight boards.

Freeman was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lamar Consolidated only posted one.

Freeman's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Lamar Consolidated, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Freeman has already played their next matchup, a 37-25 loss against Klein on the 29th. As for Lamar Consolidated, they will take on Westside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
