Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Douglas' offense. They were dealt a 47-0 defeat at the hands of Huron on Friday. The Patriots have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Spearfish's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.0 points on average over those games. As for Douglas, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Spearfish against Douglas when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 58-0 win.
