After a string of three wins, Sexton's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 81-74 to the Waverly Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Big Reds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Warriors are ranked 17th).

Sexton's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for Waverly, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sexton will head out to challenge Grand Ledge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Waverly, they will head out on the road to square off against Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
