 Poplar Springs came tearing into  Monday's  matchup with five straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.8 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past the Ponce De Leon Pirates  8-7. This was payback for Poplar Springs, who suffered  a  14-4  loss the last time these two teams met.
  Declyn Griffin made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Griffin was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base.
