Azusa and Duarte are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. Azusa will head out to face off against Duarte at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Azusa has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while Duarte will come in with three straight victories.

Azusa is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Sierra Vista on Thursday. They came up short against the Dons, falling 9-2.

Meanwhile, Duarte got the win against Nogales on Thursday by a conclusive 12-2. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Alyssa Garcia spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Emily Ramirez was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Valeria Nunez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Duarte always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nogales only posted an OBP of .286.

Azusa's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Duarte, their record now sits at 9-3.

Azusa couldn't quite get it done against Duarte when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can Azusa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
