Soccer Game Preview: Independence vs. La Joya Community

The Independence Patriots will take on the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. La Joya Community took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Independence, who comes in off a win.

Independence's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Washington 8-0. Considering the Patriots have won ten games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Washington with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jocelyn Vite (6), April Ramos, and Leslie Velazquez.

Meanwhile, La Joya Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glendale.

Independence has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those eight contests. As for La Joya Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11-2.

Independence took their victory against La Joya Community in their previous matchup back in December of 2014 by a conclusive 4-0. Will Independence repeat their success, or does La Joya Community have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
