On Saturday Cypress's undefeated season almost came to an end. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Villa Park Spartans 3-1. The Centurions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Delaney 'D.J.' Faus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Cypress' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Haney, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. That run marked the first that Haney scored this season.
