            Softball Preview: Chicago Academy Cougars vs. Rickover Naval Seadragons        
        
		
        
        
            Chicago Academy is 0-3 against Rickover Naval since May of 2021 but things could change  on Wednesday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to  challenge the Seadragons  at 4:30  p.m. Chicago Academy has given up an average of 8.9  runs per game this season, but Wednesday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Chicago Academy fell victim to Jones and their airtight pitching crew  on Monday. They came up short against  the Eagles, falling  17-0. The  match marked the first time this year in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.
Meanwhile, Rickover Naval was not the first on the board  on Monday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Lake View by a score of  17-14.
The team  relied heavily on  Kayla Mateo, who  went 4-for-5 with one  home run, three  stolen bases,  and three  runs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Juliana Senorski, who  went 1-for-3 with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Rickover Naval  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake View only managed eight  hits.
 This is the second loss in a row for Chicago Academy and  nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Rickover Naval, their victory  ended  a  five-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 5-6.
 Chicago Academy might still be hurting after the  25-11 defeat they got from Rickover Naval  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
