Basketball Recap: Leechburg Takes a Loss

Leechburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Ligonier Valley Rams and fell 70-35. The game marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Leechburg lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Rocco Vigna, who posted six points and nine rebounds. Those nine boards gave Vigna a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Scitticatt, who earned eight points.

Leechburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Ligonier Valley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Leechburg will face off against Propel Braddock Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ligonier Valley, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Geibel Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Geibel Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.7 points per game this season.
