Baseball Recap: Princess Anne's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Princess Anne dropped their record down to 11-7 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 11-1 to the Ocean Lakes Dolphins. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cavaliers, who until this contest were averaging 3.67 runs allowed.

Aidan McKeating was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Chase Rutledge also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Ocean Lakes, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9 runs.

On Ocean Lakes' side, Daniel Hamilton tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave Hamilton a new career-high.

At the plate, Grey Walsh was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tre Hamilton, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Princess Anne will take on Granby at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ocean Lakes, they will head out on the road to square off against Cox at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
