Phoenix Romeo leads Hardee to victory over DeSoto County

The Hardee Wildcats posted their closest win yet this season on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 win over DeSoto County. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hardee.

Phoenix Romeo was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 18 points.

DeSoto County's loss came despite strong showings from Bryce Miller and Jeremiah Ward. Miller scored nine points along with eight steals, while Ward scored 15 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ward has scored all season. Azir Blanding was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

The win got Hardee back to even at 5-5. As for DeSoto County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

Hardee won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mulberry at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Mulberry is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
