Basketball Recap: Prairie View Takes a Loss

Prairie View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 58-26 loss at the hands of the Mountain Range Mustangs. The Thunderhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Evelyn Ramirez was Prairie View's leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Mountain Range was led to victory by Delilah Lucero and Josieraye Running Wolf. Lucero almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds, while Running Wolf went 7 of 10 en route to 18 points and three steals. The match was Lucero's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Liliana Jaramillo, who posted seven points and five assists.

Prairie View's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Mountain Range, they pushed their record up to 6-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Prairie View will host Monarch at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Range has already played their next contest (against Pomona), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
