Masconomet Regional extended the longest winning streak in Cape Ann/Northeastern - Division 1 this week by beating Gloucester, 21-19. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Masconomet Regional and the Fishermen played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Masconomet Regional eventually emerging with a 21-19 victory.
Masconomet Regional's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Chieftains feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chris Schleer has thrown for 169 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Troy Bunker has five catches for 85 yards. Mike Tivinis leads the league in rushing with 295 yards.
A big matchup in Cape Ann/Northeastern - Division 1 this week will be when Peabody Veterans Memorial takes on Revere. The Tanners are currently in fifth, while the Patriots are in third.
Lynn English made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,078 from 4,631. The advance stemmed from a 35-12 victory over Malden last week.
