Basketball Game Preview: Spotsylvania Knights vs. Varina Blue Devils

The Spotsylvania Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Varina Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Spotsylvania is looking for their season's first victory.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-31, which was the final score in Spotsylvania's tilt against Hanover back in December of 2024. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while the Hawks are ranked 155th).

Meanwhile, Varina narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Hayfield 63-60. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Spotsylvania's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Varina, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
