Brownfield took a 39-point loss the last time they faced off against Denver City, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Brownfield Cubs skirted past the Denver City Mustangs 77-74. Winning may never get old, but the Cubs sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Brownfield is also on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points per game. As for Denver City, they moved to 18-7 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.
