Basketball Recap: Parish Hill Piles Up the Points Against Achievement First

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Parish Hill's strategy against Achievement First on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Parish Hill Pirates blew Achievement First out of the water with a 40-9 final score. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Parish Hill to victory were Hannah Becker and Gracie Pearl. Becker posted 12 points in addition to eight boards and seven steals, while Pearl dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Pearl a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Julie Millerd, who put up four points and five boards.

Parish Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Parish Hill is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.6 points per game. As for Achievement First, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.
