Basketball Recap: Dominic Carr Key Part of Team Effort in Lions Win

Lanham Christian saw some tournament action on Thursday. They strolled past the Living Water Christian Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 68-50. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 16th in Maryland, while the Warriors are ranked 278th in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lanham Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dominic Carr, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. Carr is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last seven games he's played. Jamar Payen was another key player, shooting 42% from the field en route to 12 points and seven boards.

Lanham Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

Lanham Christian's win bumped their record up to 24-6. As for Living Water Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-10 record.

As of now, neither Lanham Christian nor Living Water Christian have any future games scheduled.
