Soccer Game Preview: Sheridan vs. Miami Trace

The Sheridan Generals will take on the Miami Trace Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sheridan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season.

Sheridan is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Zanesville just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 3-2. The matchup was a 2-2 toss-up at halftime, but Sheridan couldn't quite close it out.

Thad Nikodym and Xavior Weisbarth-Rodgriguez scored both of Sheridan's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 34 goals.

Meanwhile, Miami Trace didn't have quite enough to beat Fayetteville-Perry on Thursday and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, Miami Trace can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Fayetteville-Perry are ranked 107th).

Miami Trace's record is now 8-6-2. As for Sheridan, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Everything went Sheridan's way against Miami Trace in their previous matchup back in September, as Sheridan made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Generals repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
