Baseball Recap: Southside Takes a Loss

Southside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the MacArthur Brahmas, falling 16-2.

Luke Martinez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Southside is 2-1 when Martinez posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Eddie Villazana, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Southside's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for MacArthur, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Coming up, Southside will head out on the road to take on Harlandale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Harlandale has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for MacArthur, they will host South San Antonio at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. MacArthur will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
