Ringgold has gone a perfect 7-0 against Rockmart recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m.
Ringgold is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering LaFayette just ended the team's eight-match winning streak on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ramblers.
Ringgold was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made LaFayette work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 26-28, 26-24, 25-16.
Ringgold's defeat came about despite a quality game from Olivia Jackson, who had 13 digs.
Meanwhile, Rockmart came into Thursday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Woodland on Thursday.
Rockmart easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-9.
Rockmart's victory bumped their record up to 11-27. As for Ringgold, their loss dropped their record down to 24-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Ringgold has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Rockmart struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Ringgold came out on top in a nail-biter against Rockmart when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
