Softball Recap: Brighton Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

While Brighton's victory against Covington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Chargers 8-7 on Tuesday. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Kaitlyn Chapman was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Braeley Lopez was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Brighton's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Covington, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Brighton is set to square off against their familiar foe Millington Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Covington will challenge rival Munford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
