Basketball Game Preview: Rifle Bears vs. Glenwood Springs Demons

Rifle is 2-8 against Glenwood Springs since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Rifle Bears will be playing at home against the Glenwood Springs Demons at 6:30 p.m.

Rifle is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 66-38 loss at the hands of Moffat County. The game marked the Bears' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Glenwood Springs beat Steamboat Springs 42-33 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Demons.

Rifle better keep an eye on Jamison Godfread. He was instrumental in Glenwood Springs' win, putting up ten points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Those four steals gave Godfread a new career-high. Jerick Sorensen was another key player, posting nine points.

Glenwood Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Glenwood Springs' victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Rifle, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Rifle was taken down by Glenwood Springs 92-31 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Rifle was down 53-13.
