Basketball Game Preview: Highland Scots vs. East Bakersfield Blades

The Highland Scots will take on the East Bakersfield Blades at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Highland lost to Bakersfield Christian at home by a 69-54 margin. The Scots have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, East Bakersfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 99-48 loss at the hands of North. While losing is never fun, the Blades can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1027th, while the Stars are ranked 181st).

East Bakersfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.

Everything went Highland's way against East Bakersfield in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Highland made off with a 63-37 victory. Will Highland repeat their success, or does East Bakersfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
