Recap: Plano Wildcats vs. Flower Mound Jaguars
The Plano Wildcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Flower Mound. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Plano in their matchups with Flower Mound: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Plano lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jack Thomason. Despite the final result, he threw for 256 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Plano's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. More embarrasing are the teams that make up that slump in performance: Flower Mound, Hebron, and Plano West. As for Flower Mound, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plano will face off against Marcus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marcus presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Plano in Texas (Marcus is ranked 133rd, while Plano is ranked 365th). As for Flower Mound, they will head out on the road to face off against Coppell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Coppell will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
