Football Recap: Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Skates Past ALA - Ironwood with Ease

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy had won six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 2-0 to make it seven. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 41-14 win over the ALA - Ironwood Warriors. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Lions just coasted through the last quarter.

MJ Buckner had a dynamite game, throwing for 257 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 45 yards and one score. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 54 yards. Nate Campa was another key player, picking up 121 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Levi Adcock and Levi Secrest. Another thorn in ALA - Ironwood's side was Aaron Kenworthy, who picked up two sacks and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, racking up 17 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Dominic Painter, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

As for ALA - Ironwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since September 27, 2024.

Although ALA - Ironwood took the loss, they still got scores from Rylon Bradford and Bowen Weddle.

Looking ahead, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy will face off against Crismon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for ALA - Ironwood, they will take on Florence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
