Sturgis Brown faced Spearfish in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Scoopers' defense stepped up to hand the Spartans a 4-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Sturgis Brown, who have now won five matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Sturgis Brown, bringing their record up to 6-2-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four games. As for Spearfish, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8-1.
