Basketball Recap: Brelynn Morris Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Escambia

Tate was handed a 25-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 win over the Escambia Gators. The score was all tied up 17-17 at the break, but the Aggies were the better team in the second half.

Tate's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brelynn Morris, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Malone, who put up seven points.

Despite the loss, Escambia had strong showings from Brianna Williams, who had seven points and 23 rebounds, and Tyauna English, who earned 19 points. English's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Demi Liu, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Tate has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Escambia, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tate will challenge Elberta at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Escambia, they will square off against Northview at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
