Softball Recap: Auburn Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

It's playoff time, and Auburn had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Smiths Station Panthers on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by just one run.

Auburn saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Mason, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. Those three hits gave Mason a new career-high.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Auburn, bringing their record up to 24-14. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Smiths Station, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-21-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Auburn nor Smiths Station have any future games scheduled.
