Baseball Recap: Lawrenceburg Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

After only one run in their last contest, Lawrenceburg made sure to put some runs up on the board against Rushville on Wednesday. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-12 win over the Lions. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Tigers, who until this game were averaging 3.79 runs allowed.

The team relied heavily on Ryan Richard, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was T.J. Tibbetts, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Lawrenceburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Lawrenceburg has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Rushville, they dropped their record down to 4-15 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
