Football Recap: Santa Fe Piles Up the Points Against Keystone Heights

Santa Fe's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 35-6 victory over the Keystone Heights Indians. The Raiders' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Jasiah Powell produced another solid performance rushing for 164 yards and three scores on only 11 carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 83 yards. Another player making a difference was Tyler Gentry, who rushed for 65 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Santa Fe was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 355 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Santa Fe's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Keystone Heights, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Santa Fe will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Lake Weir at 7:30 p.m. As for Keystone Heights, they will head out on the road to face off against Chiefland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chiefland's defense has only allowed 14.2 points per game this season, so Keystone Heights' offense will have their work cut out for them.
