Soccer Game Preview: Shelby vs. Montague

The Shelby Tigers will face off against the Montague Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Shelby's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Shelby came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 4-0 to North Muskegon. While losing is never fun, Shelby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 327th, while North Muskegon are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, Montague came up short against Fremont on Wednesday and fell 3-1. Montague have struggled against Fremont recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Shelby's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12-2. As for Montague, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
